ALES HIGH FERMENTATION BEERS Beers that generally have more aromatic qualities, possibly with fruity or spicy notes, and can be more complex, intense and alcoholic. For example: Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde and Goose Island IPA. LAGERS LOW FERMENTATION BEERS Fermented at cooler temperatures with bottom ferm enting yeast, Lagers tend to be more subtle, more crisp, clean. For example: Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois. While most lagers are blond and around 5 % ABV, remember that it's not the yeast that defines the colour nor the strength but the malt. i.e. Black Lager, Doppelbock
